wedding

congrats to my new pastor,jacob and wife yap who just got married on 26th of Dec.

of course almost all GEPC members went over to JB to help out at the wedding.

what i remember most of the wedding,would be the sermon preached by Rev Koshy(so happy to see him again)

its a sermon regarding marriage,and too bad i do not have a notebook with me.it was a very good sermon,especially for couples..haha.

but what i do remember would be the the art of marriage,or rather the art of love…though i forgot the points.

one would be the verse in Ephesians 5

²² Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. ²³ For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. ²⁴ Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Ps. Koshy pointed out that most man get excited when they read these verses,and they would then turn to their wife and said there,the bible says so.you shall submit unto me.

but actually.they have overlooked the entire picture,the complete meaning God intended.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her

before the wife submit to them,the husband plays an important role,it is love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.

a husband must take the initiative to love his wife first,before the wife would submit to him,in fact,submission is a response to the love given by the husband,it is NOT a requirement.

 

this then,leads to the 2nd point..which is marriage is all about giving.

yes.love gives,it never expect any return.for Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,love gives its best,and it will never stop giving.

even when there is no more to give,love still gives

the last point which i can still remember would be.

love is faithful

we live in a world where marriage is no longer till death do us part.its more like till then do us part.

yea.isn’t it comforting?to know that christians do take this seriously?of course i meant true christians who uphold God’s standards.

1 Corinthians 13
